Six Weeks

Yesterday I had my six week postpartum checkup. I am off all blood pressure medication, my blood pressure is back to where it should be, and I am released to normal activity. YAY! I am so excited! I have my BOB and I am not afraid to use it! I am very much looking forward to getting back to my pre-pregnancy shape...and maybe even shedding a few additional pounds!

Since we didn't get any pictures in the hospital, we brought Ruby along to the appointment so we could get a shot of midwife and baby and of course so Sharon could see Ruby out of the NICU doing so well and so Dee (Sharon's nurse) could meet her.

I really can't say enough about Sharon. She was so great through this whole process. She new exactly what kind of labor and delivery Dan and I were planning and preparing for and was extremely understanding and encouraging when it all went to crap.

It will be strange not to see these ladies on a regular basis anymore. But we will meet again - hopefully in a couple years :)

It's so great that you made this milestone! I'm glad you're healthy and happy! Maybe I can join you on a walk one of these days!

Hooray for getting a clean bill of health! You sure went through a lot. I have a running schedule in the making, once the baby is born and I am recovered. Maybe we could compare notes sometime. I can't wait to not feel fat anymore.

I loved my midwives too(I had 5 at the practice I went to), and I'm glad that yours made your labor (even though it wasn't what you planned on or wanted) feel comfortable. Having a baby is the craziest thing!

PS. Where did you end up getting your cloth diapers? I haven't ever seen any that look like that. You'll have to let me know what you like/dislike about them.

Ruby is sooooo cute! How fun and sharon looks great too. She helped us so much too. WE LOVE THE BOB!!! I use it on a daily basis and walks or runs are the best way to get baby a nap and mommy some workout time. I would so be on that Santa Fe trail with you if i still lived there. Enjoy this precious time with Ruby they change soooo fast.
