The incline is a funny trail, if you can even call it that. It is just a set of stairs (made of rail road ties) in Manitou Springs, that is technically closed to the public, although no one pays a bit of attention to the "No Trespassing" sign. There is a gain of about 2,000 feet in just a little over one mile. Some local nuts do the incline a couple times a week when the weather permits. We are not like that, and we are definitely not breaking any world records getting up to the top. In our opinion anytime under an hour is a pretty respectable.
In the car, Dan is seriously driving on 1-25 at that exact moment. Yes, we have matching visors.
This is just at the beginning, hadn't hit the really steep - 68% grade - yet.

wanna hike it together this summer sometime?
Dang, that is crazy stuff. I wonder who put all the railroad ties in. Crazy. And how cute that you hike holding hands. :)
I never knew there was such a thing! Looks like it was fun!
That looks like fun! Something to aspire to later this summer...
BTW, you are more than welcome to bring a family-sized meal over any time you want. :) And, as I am learning today, freezing food is a great option - you could freeze half of what you make for you and Dan and avoid gagging on leftovers!
Heath has done it twice. I'm totally sure I'd never make it to the top!
My parents love to do that trail! My dad is opening a bike shop in manitou right down the street from there. We have to meet up the next time I come visit.
I love your cute matching visors. If I saw you two walking up with those, I'd offer to take your picture too! I thing climbing the incline AT ALL is respectable, hour or longer!
I, for some reason, can't see all the cool pics. My computer keeps blocking them. Lame-o.
Cute pics. I love Colorado - you are so lucky you live there. When I come there next I want to hike those stairs with you!
