I am getting really annoyed

Do you like my new pantry?

Our pantry used to have 12 doors on it, so we took them off and re-organized it.  It's in a nicely hidden area of our kitchen, so you don't actually see it unless you are practically standing right in front of it.  I love it without the doors, it is so much easier to see everything instead of guessing...is it behind door #1??  Yeah maybe I should have known where everything was since I put it there, but all those doors were so disorienting, anyway, I figure this just one step closer to my organized, well-planned life :)

Sidenote: I love those plastic Oxo containers!  If I were rich I would have 30 of those things!

Happy Easter

And this is the weather that we are "enjoying".  I am ready already for some warmer weather!  It is some seriously wet snow which is good because we do need some moisture, but rain would be fine too!

 - That was the email I got from my co-worker (who organized a little bragging rights bracket) on Tuesday morning.  YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!  I won!  I never win anything!  And to beat out 7 boys who probably watch a lot of college basketball, and if not a lot of college basketball...FOR SURE more than I do!  I need to apologize now to the rest of my co-workers because I will be taking the "bragging rights" seriously and you will all be hearing about it for a LONG time! - 

HGTV inspired Home Improvement

This is what happens when we don't have plans for a Saturday...we spend money and/or make messes!  I was just minding my business watching my saturday morning cartoons (HGTV) and WE, (let me emphasize that it wasn't very hard to convince him) get this big idea to update our house.  I was kinda sad to see our copper cut out/peek through or whatever you call it go.  It was unique and quirky,  but ultimately I am happy with the outcome!

We are so impulsive and Dan started demo-ing so fast that I didn't even get a proper "before" picture.  He barely stopped ripping it apart for enough time for me to get this shot.  

This took the longest time.  That peek through was seriously SOLID!!  

Those smudges showing up in the pictures is all the sheet rock dust in the air - ewww!

Dan putting the new sheet rock up to fill in the gaps.  He is so handy!  Seriously, I dream something up, and he does it.  Not that this was that complicated, but still.  

We are just getting warmed up :)

Finishing up the drywall and texturing - that dust is all over our house, I am dusting it away little by little.

Yay!!  We found the perfect stain at Home Depot, and after 2 coats it is a perfect match!  I don't think that you would even know that it wasn't original.

Just another angle so you can see how cool it is!  We just barely put the poly on it, so it isn't ready for decor yet.  If you have any ideas as to what I should put up there let me know.  I am trying to keep this de-cluttered and simple.  

On to the next project!!
